Best shopping places of goa

Though there are many place to shop in goa but Canacona beach market and Calangute beach market are the best place with varieties of option to shop.
canacona and calangute lie in two opposite direction mainly south and north respectively.

i had been to a small vacation to benaulim and palolem beach.  when i had been to benaulim i went to Calangute beach to shop. while i went to palolem beach we shopped in canacona market.

Calangute market –


situated in North Goa is famous for 100 of varieties like :-
1. Junk & semi precious jewellery,
2. handicraft bags,
3. sea shells collection,
4. goan style dresses,
5. antique decor stuff,
6. lantern lights,
7. leather products,
8. beach dresses,
9. carpet and rugs,
10. varities of minute items so basically the one looking for souvenir will have varieties of never ending options to look out for.

Canacona market (Palolem market)-

  • situated in South Goa is famous for things that are not commonly seen in north goa markets. you can find :-
    1. sunglasses,
    2. dresses,
    3. cashewnuts ,
    4. mocktail crushes,
    5. scented candles,
    6. incense stick,
    7. bedding things,
    8. enameled steel products,
    9. brass items,
    10. wooden kitchen items.
  • Bohemian inspired decor things, Junk & semi precious jewellery, antique decor items, ceramic decor items, footwear, handmade bags, carpet and rugs, mind-blowing cushion and dohar/quilt etc.
  • There were also certain unique decor products made up of coconuts shell powder, animal’s bone and horn (extracted  from dead animals).
  • Raw gemstone rock extracted from deep sea varying from 2 ratti size to 8 feet.

COMMON THINGS THAT CAN BE FOUND :

  • Rustic decor items, antique decor items, Bohemian decor items.
  • Footwears, dresses, bags, hair accessories.
  • Perfumes, Unique incense sticks, scented candles.
  • Last but not least CASHEW NUT can be bought very cheap from here especially the one with skin. (its shelf life is more and just dry fry/bake it to remove the skin)
  • Alcohols are much cheaper and requires to obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Department of Excise under Provision of Section 4 of the Goa Excise Duty Act and Rules 1964.
